dtac and NBTC handed out free prepaid top-up cards to people queuing up to pay respects to His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej as a merit making to HM King Rama IX
Mr. Paradai Theerathada, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Total Access Communication PLC (dtac) and Mr. Thakorn Tantasith, Secretary General, the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), together with representatives from both organizations jointly handed out 4,000 60-Baht prepaid top-up cards to mourners queuing up to pay respects before the body of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej at the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall inside the Grand Palace as a merit making to HM King Rama IX from 5:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 18, 2016. The management of NBTC took this opportunity to measure the strength of dtac’s mobile signal extended to accommodate the mourning public traveling to the Sanam Luang and Grand Palace area.
dtac has placed 4 mobile units plus 40 small cell antennas to expand network capacity and coverage around the area and installed over 70 WiFi hotspots to provide free WiFi access for dtac and other network customers. Additionally, dtac has been providing free services and facilities to the public in the area, including drinking water, free emergency phone calls, and mobile phone-charging stations.
